1:45 PM — Wiki!!! I have just discovered the joy that is wikiwiki. As I understand it, the term "wikiwiki" refers to webpages that are editable by anyone. In application, see Wikipedia and Wiktionary. When you first visit these pages, you see an encyclopedia (Wikipedia) or dictionary (Wiktionary) that doesn't seem much out of the ordinary. I found that Wikipedia was a little better than other free encyclopedais, while Wiktionary was a little worse than other free dictionaries. Then after surfing for a while, you realize that there are some non-existant entries, and a solicitation for YOU to write the entry! This is a full blown peer review consensus based linguistic (and scientific) community! I am amazed. And I am impressed by how good some of the physics articles are. Check it out.   6:34 PM — Men are Stupid Slackers; Women are Victims of the Male Hierarchy Okay, so if a girl chooses to cease her graduate career b/c she's tired of everyone comparing dick sizes with her, even the other women, she's really an unknowning victim of the established patriarchy which does not allow outspoken women to remain threats to men. Or so say the feminists. I bet if a man chose the same as me, the feminists would think nothing of it, that he was simply a washout that couldn't take the rigors of grad school, or that he wasn't smart enough or hard working enough to make the necessary grades, or maybe he just got off to a bad start at that school.   9:27 PM — Furry or feathers? When I first read this article about a plastic surgeon whom could give people wings, I thought, "wow, that'd be so cool!" Then I realized that his main audience would be Furries. If you don't know what Furries are, many consider them to be the month-old leftovers of the internet: completely repulsive and any sane person will throw it in the garbage without even opening the tupperware. To be a little more generous, they're people who identify with animals. For example, some have a sexual fetish and prefer they or their partners wear "fursuits" (anthropomorphic animal costumes) during intercourse. Others might believe they were born into the wrong species body, or that underneath it all, they are truly a different type of creature -- a form of Body Dysmorphic Disorder, BDD, not unlike aneorexia, transgendered persons, and obsessive liposuction or tatooing. Howver, body paint doesn't freak me out. Bestiality does.
